Question

Answer

You either dissolve the LLC in PA and reform it as an NC LLC OR, if you want to continue operating in PA as well as NC, you apply for a certificate of authority and get registered here.

Contact the NC Secretary of State for NC. Here is the website:

http://www.secretary.state.nc.us/corporations

They have forms for applying for an LLC or a certificate of authority ni NC for a PA LLC and the fees are noted.

You also might want to contact the business licensing office for NC: http://www.blnc.gov

I don't know what kind of business you are in or if a permit or license is needed.

Answer

As a Franchise Attorney I basically agree with the other attorney answer. The problem with having two LLC's in two states usually is a double tax or qualifying tax (and sometimes annual reporting fees) payable yearly for each LLC. Consult with a good business or franchise attorney in your area for specific advice.
