I attempted to register for courtcall for a trial setting conference, but I missed the deadline and they rejected me. What will happen if I cannot attend in person? I am representing myself at the moment.
Answer
If you do not appear or otherwise obtain a continuance (or find someone to make the appearance for you), then you are likely to suffer monetary sanctions. The court also may set dates without your participation.
I would start working right away to find someone to make the appearance for you, or find a way to attend the hearing. You should also contact the court and opposing counsel, and see if you can obtain a continuance.

I just answered a question from someone looking for an attorney to make a special appearance in Santa Clara County Superior Court. My suggestions were (1) do a Google search using "appearance attorney" and "Santa Clara" as search terms (I tried this myself and it will produce some prospectively-useful results) and (2) contact Robert L. Ray & Associates in Colton, Calif. who had a state-wide appearance-attorney business a few years ago and is probably still doing it, although he may have retired. As a third alternative, re-post and give us information as to the court location and date, and maybe a LawGuru attorney will step forth.
