Question

I have a misdemeanor conviction for petty theft(adjudicated guilt).. I am going on 6 years with having this on my record..how would a pardon work for me in this situation since I cannot get it expunged or sealed? possible restore my civil rights in this manner?

Answer

First, unless you were convicted of a felony, you never lost your civil rights. As far as the pardon process, you don't need an attorney for that, you just apply. I know little about pardons (because clients rarely hire attorneys for this), but I can tell you the process takes several years to complete.
