Hi. When in removal proceedings, only the immigration judge can adjudicate the application to adjust status. If you have an attorney, you may want to discuss having him/her motion to the court to terminate the removal proceedings. This would vest jurisdiction with the USCIS on the I-485 and it may go faster. Or there may be other issues that you are unaware or don't understand that keep the case in front of the judge. If you have an attorney, ask them. If you don't have an attorney, now may be the time to hire one.
