Where do you take disability and intellectually challenged people for activities?

Where do you take disability and intellectually challenged people for activities?
Take them the same places that you like to go! I have a cousin in a wheelchair, and when we go places I just have to think of any obstacles we might encounter before we get there. I would imagine it would be the same for a person who was intellectually challenged. Being prepared to make the experience work for the person is the most important thing. My mother worked for a woman who was both deaf and blind. She loved to do everything. She never wanted people to treat her differently, or leave her out because of her disability. She liked to go to the movies (it had to be interpreted for her), and other activities that you would not dream she would enjoy. Once my mother entered her in a chili judging contest. She was the perfect judge. She really enjoyed the experience. The most important thing to think about is what the person really likes to do, and then figure out how to make their disability not be an issue for them while they are enjoying their activity. Have fun!
