Question

I have a divorce decree that states in total: "I agree to pay half of the girls post high school educational expenses". (I have 2 daughters) who both received the Hope Scholarship which pays all of their tuition at UGA and a book stipend. Am I obligated to pay any other "expenses" or is the Hope Scholarship considered to cover "educational expenses"? If so what expenses?

Answer

An attorney will want to review all of the final divorce documents in order to answer your question. Consult the attorney who represented you in the divorce. If you did not use an attorney, then employ one to review all of the final divorce documents.

Answer

First of all Hope scholarships no longer fully cover educational expenses. Secondly, no attorney would want to answer without seeing the entire decree and any related papers. See the attorney who represented you in the divorce.
