I am a divorced custodial parent of a 13 year old. The non-custodial parent pays 250.00 a month in child support. The case is up for review/modification now and the non-custodial parent is trying to get an evening deeper discount on his support payment. Now that he is remarried, is his total ''household'' income taken into consideration for determining the amount of child support that should--name removed--paid. He wife is working a corporate job and he (the NCP) does benefit from that income. Also, how is his income from''contractual work'' from photography jobs calculated for consideration. Of course, he is not disclosing '' all of his income.

Modification of child support is not a do-it-yourself project. Although it may sound unlikely, there is a chance that the $250 payment may be reduced even further by crafty representation. You really can't afford to not hire representation.

You should consult with a local attorney. There is too much at stake to risk trying to do it yourself. All of the parties' financial positions need to be examined.
