What is the meaning of song 'Dog days are over' by Florence and the machine?
From an interview that she did:

The song is about her struggle with giving up her favorite food (or one of her favorites), hot dogs, when she became a vegetarian. Nothing quite so inspirational, but it's the truth. That's what the dog days of summer mean. Hot dogs gave her a lot of happiness, but she had to run from them. And, I imagine with all the summer barbecuing, they "came after her" and tempted her quite a bit. She probably just started with the one line and and went from there.
