How can you alter the key pitch on a flute?

How can you alter the key pitch on a flute?
To play different notes, you do different fingerings. The opening and closing of the buttons makes the length the air has to travel through the flute shorter or longer, shorter being higher, longer being lower. But there's more to that than that. Also, to change the pitch of a note to make it more flat or sharp, you "roll in" or "roll out" at the mouth piece your mouth. It's typically not good to do that, since it messes up the tone quality. The best way is to drop your jaw to make flat and raise your jaw to make sharp. Not your head, just your jaw, though it helps to keep your head up the whole time. :)
