I have a Civil Protection Order against my husband.He is paying for child custody and spousal support.Now he wants to divorce me in India.We were married in India.Right now we are in NJ.Can he divorce me in India?

India is a sovereign nation. The question is whether by filing for divorce here you can get a New Jersey judgment which will supercede an Indian divorce so far as this country is concerned. If husband has valuable ties to this country and must return to this country an Indian divorce will do him little. good
