What is the difference between PSD and JPEG?
JPEG is the most used format for the memorization of photographs. You can open a JPEG on any computer and without having to install any particular program.
PSD on the other hand is a PhotoShop Document, so to open one you must have Photoshop. As an alternative, you can also open a PSD with Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects.
